- Landlords were found in Ireland long ago. Nobody cared for them because they were the back bone of orangism. They were not scrupulous in quenching a kitchen fire and turning the owners out. Turning the land for the English people and rearing the cattle for the English also. Some of them were kind enough to rise the rent to have evictions. But thanks be to God they are gone now. They went like a fog on a mountain on a fine bright clear Summer's day. In my district the landlord was not as bad as he was painted. The evictions would be far more numerous were it not for their kindness and generosity. Several(continues on next page)
