  1. A Song

Is the dance still at Aderiville,

Is the dance still at Aderiville,
Do they play hand ball at the bridge,
Is the "mústrín" collins teaching still,
    Does he the barrister begrudge,
Where is Tom Cahill of Goulánn,
    Mústrín Ruadh and Daly Bán.
    II
The brown old Flesk still murmurs, on
And takes no note of time or tide,
The bards and Shanacies are gone,
The saxon tale its work described,
Is all they take dear Scart a blank,
Have you no fame in song or story,
Have you no child that you can thank,
For gaining honour fame or glory,
Have all thy sons age after age,
Left nothing but a vacant page.
