- St Johns NightLong ago in this country many customs were observed on the eve of the Feast of St. John, but most of them are no longer practiced now. The people always looked forward to that night because they celebrated it with great joy and had plenty fun.
A few days before the Feast the young people were very busy gathering turf and sticks to make the fire and they marked out a special place to make it and like it. The previous night they prepared the fire by placing the turf and sticks in a large heap ready to be lit.
