A stick is put in at each end of the hands and this is shaken by two other sticks on each side. The flax is put to be bleached in a field for a week or two. When bleached it is brought in and put on a winding blade and balls made of it.
It is then beaten on a wall and sent off to the weaver. he will charge fourpence a yard for weaving it.- Informant
