  1. In olden times the people of this district used many kinds of bread.
    Oats, barley and wheat were grown. The wheat was grinded with two large stones called millstones. The people baked oaten bread on a griddle beside the fire. They baked the wheaten bread on a grid iron. Barley bread was baked on the pan. Potatoe bread was also used. The people baked bread every day. The vessel which the mixed the bread in, was called a bread-dish. The people made special bread at the time of christenings and marriages. They put
