(continued from previous page)The next two were written by an invalid called Andy Hagan from the townland of Killcrow who was a great follower of the hounds in his youth.The next two were written by a local wit named McGuigan from Cornahoe, Castleshane, Monaghan.The next two were written by a man named John Henry Muirhead of Tonagh Clontibret who is still alive but not now composing as much as he used.The 'Ragman from Lengar' is the most popular of all the local songs and is sung at every party and dance over the parish. It is not definitely known who put the music to the words. The poem deals with the wake and burial of a tramp named Red McAree who was inconsiderate enough to die in the house in which he had obtained shelter for the night.(continues on next page)
