He told the man that he went very early to his work and the man said he had to do it to earn a living. So the little man showed him a stone and said "lift that stone in the morning and you will not have to work as hard". He told the man to tell nobody about it, and stepping into the ditch he disappeared. The man's wife had to hear what kept him late so he told her the story but when he went in the morning there was nothing under the stone.
