  1. On the farm of Dennis Brennan Lemgare Clontibret Co. Monaghan there is a mass rock. It is on the side of a very high rock. At this rock there are two pieces cut out and it is said that it was here the clerks stood during mass. At the foot of the rock there is another flat stone where the priest stood. During mass there was a watch on the top of the rock in case of danger.
The late Father Rhepmond stood on the top of the rock and made a poem including the border river which he said would afterwards appear in Irish history. But never yet has it appeared.
