- There are few districts in Ireland which do not contain some folk-lore. Some of the folk-lore consists of treasure stories. There is a treasure in my locality, hidden in a fort, with a large lone bush stretching into the sky over the exact place where the treasure is. It is in the townland of Tattygar. It was placed there by William Henry over one thousand years ago. He put it there for safety, because the Danes were just beginning to invade our country at that time, or as he said himself "the old thieves of Danes were searching and plundering the country, and they'd the the last penny from(continues on next page)
