  1. Many local roads lead from the town of Castleblayney to different places in the country. The road which passes our house is known as the "Old Road" because it was the only way from Castleblayney to Ballytrain about one hunded years ago. But about one hundred years ago a new road was made from Castleblayney to Ballytrain and it was known as the "Ballytrain Rd." There is no knowledge as to when the "Old Rd" was made but it is at least five hundred years ago. The Ballytrain Rd. is the main road from Castleblayney to most of the towns of Cavan, and the "Old Rd. is used by the people of who live on it, to go to Castleblayney. The Ballytrain Rd. was made because the "Old Rd" was in a bad state for all traffic .The men who worked on the Ballytrain Rd were of a poor class and only
