- Some married women wore shawls, others wore blue cloaks with three capes on them. They all wore white linen caps with two or three rows of borders around the front of them. The borders were neatly made by an article called a "tallyiron". They also wore a home made knitted article around them called a cross over. The young ladies had some fixture in the back part of their dress called a "greecian bend" and wore ribbons in their hair.
