- In Castleblayney Demesne there are two big hogs heads of jewels and gold and silver plate. It belonged to the Mc Mahons of Monaghan who before Cromwell came to Ireland owned Castleblayney Demesne. The Mc Mahon the last of the clan was hanged by the English soldiers in the front of his Castle. The remains of it can still be seen. In the centre of one of the floors is a heavy flag stone with a ring concealed that can be raised up and you can go down steps into a cellar.(continues on next page)
