- In the Penal times priests were very much in danger. The priests were hunted everywhere. They had to wade through big loughs for their lives. Sometimes they were drowned and ate with animals in the water.
Every priest's and Bishop's head was worth seven or eight pounds. The priests had to hide themselves in old glens. They said Mass in glens.
Mass was said in Lismagonway fort and in Aughabog glen. The rock where the priest said Mass is in Lismagonway(continues on next page) - Collector
