- There are forts in the district of the school - in the townlands of Rosnaglough, Faltaugh, Hillycraggy, Lisnagonway, Descart, Ionagh and Cremoyle. They are all circular in shape and a fence of earth around each. They are locally supposed to be inhabited by fairies.Plenty of people in Faltaugh fort looked for gold but found nothing but little clay pipes which the fairies smoked.
- A man named John Smyth tried to cut away the bushes but could not do so.Owen Sherry was crossing by this fort in Rossnaglough one day about 11 o'clock and heard like knocking on the door and after some time, saw a wee man running through the fort.
