    into deep water dragging the man with him. Both he and the horse were lost. No one around here remembers this happening but Mr. Dunne remembers his father speaking of it.
    On another occasion two boys of about twenty years of age were bringing a cat as a present to a friend who lived at the far side of this lake from them. They decided to row across for a short cut. There is a whirl-pool in the middle of the lake and the boat came upon it. It began to spin around and finally it capsized and both were drowned. The cat swam to safety.
    Superstitious persons say it is unlucky to go out on water on Whit Sunday or Whit Monday. One Whit Sunday two boys went out to fish on Corlougharoo Lake - about two miles from the school - and they were drowned.
