    It is unlucky to kill a swan.
    One magpie is unlucky, two are a sign of good luck.
    If magpies come to a house and begin chattering it is a sign of a death.
    If you see the first lamb of the season with its back towards you, you won't live to see the next year's lambs.
    There is an old belief among some old people here, which says "that when the Palm & the Shamrock come together Ireland will be free." This means when Pam Sunday falls on 17th March.
    If Candlemas Day be fair & clear
    Will have two winters in one year.
