    Another saying in card-playing is - "I never sent a "cady" a man's errand," said when a good card is played.
    These were two favourite sayings of James Mc Phillips Crappagh who died about five or six years ago & was over 70 years of age. He was fond of card-playing.
    He sowed no green barley for that
    (meaning it's in his blood).
    He's a chip of the old block.
    An empty sack won't stand.
    Time & tide will wait for no man.
    Come easy go easy.
    Fine feathers make make fine birds.
    It's a sad heart that never rejoices.
    All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy.
    A blacksmith's ass and a shoemaker's wife are often barefoot.
    An advice to girls is:-
    "Never marry a tailor or your misery's just begun. You'll have to set the taties and dig them everyone."
