The upper part is called the "crib" and the part underneath the "bottom". It is built with oak boards, and is put together with hoops. There are no marks on it except where the crib and bottom are joined together. In olden times the people used to churn every other morning. Nowadays they churn twice a week. Every member of the family helps in the work if they are present. Strangers who come in during churning help in the work. It takes an hour to churn. It is done by the hand.
