- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)In 1928 there was a heavy storm and heavy rain in Freshford. It did much damage around the country. Trees were knocked along the roads, slates were blown from houses, and lighter articles were carried many miles by the gale. The rivers overflowed their banks, and ricks of hay and cows and sheep were swept away.
In the month of February, 1903 a terrific storm raged over the whole of Ireland. A great deal of damage was caused. A number of woods all over Ireland were levelled to the ground, and cattle and sheep were killed by the falling timber. Many people were also killed by slates which fell from houses.- Bailitheoir
