Michael Healy, Bunerussia St., Freshford is about ninety four years of age, Michael Dawson of the same address is near eighty Michael Kennedy of the same place is over seventy and Mrs. Rafter, Chapel St., Freshford is near ninety. These people never learned Irish but they have some Irish words and old sayings in Irish handed down to them from their forefathers.
There were more houses in Freshford formerly but a new batch has been built on the sites of ruined houses so that the place has about as many now as formerly. The village is not mentioned in any song or saying.
There are not many woods in the district. The "Cobs" is the largest. The only river flowing through Freshford is the Nuenna. It flows through the village and joins the Nore at Threecastles. There are a few streams but are of no importance.
