- We have a churn at home. It is made like a barrel and placed on a stand with four legs. It is called an end over end churn. On the lid of this churn there is a glass about the size of the glass of a watch. When we are churning this glass becomes quite clear when the butter is made. When the cream is put in the churn one person turns the handle for about a half-hour or less
