The south and west winds bring the most rain in this district. When rooks fly high tumbling in the air stormy weather is predicted. When the cock crows late in the evening it is a sure sign of rain. When swallows fly high it is a sign of fine weather and when they fly low it is a sign of wet weather. When the cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of cold weather.
