    caves are said to have been hiding places for the Danes after their defeat in 1014.
    These Danes had nothing to eat but the green grass and this is supposed to have kept them alive. Ghosts and lights were often seen around those caves. People who died during the days of the famine are buried in a field next to the present graveyard in Moulagullane.
    About 80 years ago there was no bridge on the road leading from Sneem to Moulagullane. There was only a few planks laid across the river which were dangerous for people riding on horse back. When the people realised how dangerous those planks were they got a
