- Once upon a time there lived a man who was very poor. He had nothing only a cow. One morning he got up very early and went to the fair to sell the cow. As he was going he had to pass through a rath. As he was passing, a little fairy walked out in front of him and asked him where he was going. The man told him he was gong to the fair to sell the cow. The fairy asked him how much did he want for his cow. "Twenty pounds" the man said. "Bring her over to the field and tie her to the first buacallán you meet" When the man turned around the fairy had disappeared.
