- Once upon a time there lived a man in Co. Kildare, who owned a farm. On this land stood a rath. He told his workmen to level the rath. The men knew if they did not do as he told them, they would be sacked. Before they began to level the rath, they told the fairies not to blame them as they were only doing what they had to do. They leveled the rath and when they went in that night the old farmer began to shiver and never stopped shivering until he died.
