    Many of the fields, hills, hollows and all the town lands of Arigna District have Irish names. Such as Pairc na scath. This is a filed with a lone bush in the centre. Poll a dtuaidh, Poll a phuaca, Páirc fada, Moinin a crop, Derriniskey, Knockadryan, Seltinaveeney, Dun.
