The following rhyme was composed about the magpie:-
    "One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a letter,
    Four for a boy,
    Five for silver,
    Six for gold,
    Seven for a secret,
    That can never be told"
Although the wren is the smallest bird, he is known as the "King of all birds".
The swallows are said to have tried to hide the huge nails on the soldiers, at the Crucifixion
