A fowl is killed and the blood sprinkled on each door and the Sign of the Cross made with blood. People never yoke horses on St Martins eve. - May Bushes
In some parts children gather flowers and ties bunches of them on a tree on May eve.
They also leave flowers outside the door of every house.
People decorate the Virgin's statue with flowers, and light candles. The kneel and say the Rosary and continue it through the Month of May.
