    Next day she boiled the eggs too soft or rare, but the tailor used as much butter, so se remarked, "I'm afraid I boiled your egg too soft." "It's alright, ma'am" he answered, "I'll harden it with butter.

    Inquiries for a person's health. In some places they say "How are you?" or "How is the health? But in Co. Laoighise where I taught for some time the query for your health was "Are you stout?" I taught near Montrath, and another teacher from the west also taught in a school between Montrath and Maryborough.
    On returning to teach after her holidays her landlady kindly inquired "Is your mother stout?" "Oh no" answered the teacher, "she is a thin woman; I am much stouter than she is."
