trade in basket making long ago.
    Some men earned their living
from it. First thing was to get
sally stuck, some men brought frames, but others made frames themselves.
The frame were made by sticking both ends of a thick sally in the ground for the bottom, then shorter sallies were stuck in the ground in some manner as the sides were being made.
When the sides were finished, finer sallies were plaited through them. There was a thick sally curved around the barn to keep it firm, For the handles there was a thick sally with finer sallies wound around it.
The basket was then finished and sold. There is a "basket maker" in this district at present.
