The mother prepared tea in the parlour. She got a lend of a cosy from a neighbour to put on the tea-pot. The daughtrer put the man at the head of the table. She turned around and thought the cosy was the cat. "Cat out of that" said she, knocking the tea-pot and cosy down on the boy. He ran off hatless and never stopped praying with joy at his escape.
