In homely, sweet Cloneen:
More grateful far to Him on high
Than fragrant sylvan dell,
Their prayers that rise like incense sweet
When tolls the Chapel bell.So thinks the young and gentle priest
When, passing down the street,
With smiles and nods on every side,
The neighbours kindly greet.
As from the sacristy he sees
The old, familiar place,
His swelling heart with love recalls
Each well-remembered face.And thro' the long, bight summer months
The youths and maidens fair,
With Ban-a-thee and village sire,
Were ever kneeling there,
