    date beyond 1699. Towards the east end of the graveyard there is a group of twelve monuments arranged in two rows each row running north and south. The east row consists of eight monuments, the west of four.

  2. In St John's old church yard stands several old monuments mostly altar shaped ones dating from the ninth and tenth century. Here lies the bodies of several parish priest of St Johns. There are two or three vaults in it also.
    St Malls the oldest one dates from 1796. St Mall or Mella was mother of St Canice from which the city took its name, the word Kilkenny meaning Church of Canice.
    Rathcoole in Sandfordscourt
    The oldest monument here dates from 1732. It contains many altar tomb stones.
