    the place where it was buried. Some of the old people tell us that he could see the exact spot where the treasure was hidden from the bridge at Graignamanagh, but when on Brandon Hill he could not find it. He was afterwards "found out" but the people forgave him. He then took up his abode as a customs officer at New Ross. Many years ago Franey's hidden treasure was discovered, and it consisted of gold and silver vessels and ornaments.
