Another disease by which sheep are affected is the "Gig". This disease is cured by opening the sheep's head, and taking out a portion of the brain. The sheep's head is then stitched together, and after nine days the sheep is cured.
"Farcy" was a horse disease, and it was cured by taking the horse to a herbalist between sunset, and sunrise. The horse was cured when a prayer was said by the herbalist.
There is another herb called "Gladdem", and when it is boiled, and tied around the neck it cures the "Mumps". Another cure for the "Mumps" is to tie heated salt around the patient's neck.
There is an herb called "Garlic" which cures a worm disease in horses. When the "Garlic" is boiled it is given to the affected horse.
The dandelion is an herb, and its juice is supposed to cure rheumatism.- Collector
