- About six years ago there lived in Castlecomer a boy named Jack Baylon. He was drowned in the River Deen which is near Castlecomer. He went to swin and he was drowned in the month of April 1928. He was eighteen years old. He was not warned because he was a very good swimmer. He used to swin in very deep water. He was just going to come out when he took a pain. They were looking for him. One day the policemen got him. Everyone around the town was very sorry for him and for his father and his mother. I knew him well.
