    Bleeding
In this district bleeding is stopped in this way. Mrs. Kealy in Castlecomer says a prayer and the bleeding stops. The prayer does no good unless a woman says it over a woman and a man over a man. Bleeding is stopped by applying a cobweb.
    Bleeding from the nose
Lie on your back and put up your right hand. Apply a key to the back of the neck.
    Warts
If you had warts on your hands put your hands under water that is flowing out of a well which was blessed by a saint. Put spittle on it when fasting for nine mornings.
    Toothache
Put bread soda or sloans liniment in the tooth
    Sore Head
Sew ivy leaves together. Heat them at the fire and put them on the head, or apply a poultice made of Indian Meal.
    Sty
Get a thorn off a gooseberry bush and prod the sty three times.
