    Evett, the agent, also caused to be made the river road from Lisnamoyle to the bridge - below McMahon's (Mrs) house.

    The old road, from the old chapel Broomfield, (Cor na Sglátaí) to McConnell's, Drumheriff was an old coach road.
    There was an inn near McConnell's house in olden times and it is said that the soldiers in charge of Wolfe Tone, when he was being removed to Dublin for trial, put up at this inn for one night.

    The road from Matt Connolly's house at Tullyvara to Ashburton (Corrinshigagh) was also an ancient road.
    Regarding Bashworth, the bailiff, to Tottentom, Mrs McMahon said, that Bashworth and the Gartlans of Monalty entered into a legal dispute. Bashworth was beaten in the law courts and broken as a result. His wife afterwards lived in a little hut near Culloville. The Grattans of Monalty were very wealthy people and had a distillery.
