It is in the parish of Tullycorbett and the Barnony of Monaghan. There are six famlies in this townland and about forty people living in it. There are four slated houses and two thatched.
There are three people over sevendy but none of them know Irish - Mrs Traynor Cornenaugh Ballybay. Mrs Boylan Cornenaugh Ballybay. Mr Francis Coyle Cornenaugh. In ancient days houses were more numberous. In our street there were two other famlies living, they were Rooneys and Duffys.
Cornenaugh got its name as the round hill of the oxen. In ancient days there were no towns for the people to go to with their cattle and they(continues on next page)
