    Regarding Oat-meal and its many uses as a food in the famine years and for many of those following it would appear that it was "dealt in" that is bought and a good deal among the people and there is a saying still to be heard in the district and usually applied to anyone is a gay, cheerful or light-hearted mood, viz "that he (or she) is as jolly as if he (or she) had meal to sell"
