    When my father was a child eleven or twelve years of age a man named Murty Keating was considered the best hurler in Kilmaley.

    got back to Coroffin. The fairy man thanked Murty and promised him that he would not regret having assisted him, and sure enough Murty got a much better price for his bonhams than he had been offered in Ennistymon.
    I need scarcely add that even fifty years ago comparatively few people believed Murty's yarn. I am giving it here because it is quite possible that this is an old tale which Murty "adapted".
