    door. His name was Mr Fennel and from that time to this it is called Fennel's forge It is not known whither this shoe has fitted any horse or not.
    Many years ago a Saint was passing a forge. He was riding a horse and went in to get a shoe on his horse There was a chestnut tree growing opposite the forge. When the smith put on the shoe he gave the old shoe back to the saint. The saint hung the shoe on the chestnut tree. A year after the smith took off the shoe from the tree. When he took it off he saw the mark of the shoe and the five nails in the tree.
    This is to be seen outside every forge on a chestnut
