On the mountain not far from Clonaslee there is a rock called Brennan's rock where a priest named Fr Brennan or perhaps St Brennan, used to say Mass in the Penal time.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
four miles away, but his cows grazed on the mountain in Summer time. He stored the cream in this old house and at the end of a week he put it up in a cart and brought it home and by the time he reached there the milk was churned and the butter was formed. In this place too stand the remains of another old house called the Ale house, where ale and whiskey were made in old times.
