- Long ago in Ireland when there was very little printing of religious magazines, the people made up short prayers of their own,
most of which have died away;
but some are still preserved in this district since mediaival ages.
The following are some of the beautiful prayers my mother has taught me.
"Should Jesus fear the cross alone,
No I there is a cross for everyone
and there is a cross for me."
The above mentioned prayer is said in time of affliction whilst following is very often quoted when we rise in the morning:-
"Good morning day
God keep me from going astray,
God keep me from sin and shame
That I may rise again on the
Lords Day."
