  1. (continued from previous page)
coach was seen and heard for several nights. Beside his bedside his servant who is alive at present heard him swear that he would come back in the form of a dog either dead or alive. He was a very bad man and he often scourged people that were in his power. Although he was a very powerful man he never prospered as his only son was a simpleton and during his life a person had to be always with him. He is dead now about fifteen years. Old people say that a dog was often seen in Annegrove in times gone by and it is often seen wandering about his house which he died in.
