    Their faces are blackened and they have old torn clothes on them and big straw hats which they make themselves. They dance among the guests & get refreshments. The bride & bridegroom go home after a month to the bride's house & have a dance there that night.
    On Shrove Tuesday people got married long ago. The bridegroom used to be on horseback and the bride was seated at the back of the briggroom.
    The other guests were at the back of the pair in out-side cars.
