  1. There are a number of raths in this district. There is a rath out in Cuddagh. One day a man began to cut wood in the rath. The fairies came and blinded him and at the same time his wife was blinded.
    Fairies live in the raths and are supposed to know where gold is hid. There are different kinds of fairies such as leaprachan cluarachan. The leaprachan is supposed is supposed to be a shoe maker. The fairies wear red caps and green coats. The toes of their boots are turned up.
    There is another fort in Redcastle and it was owned by the O'Moores. One day a drunken
