    answered.A strange man asked to be allowed to take part in the game. As soon as the stranger entered the dog had to be put outside the door. The game started the stranger William Maker and John Carroll partners won the fowl and started to play out for the chickens an altercation arose, between Carroll and the stranger, a row started between them. The candle which was lighting on the table was knocked down and went out. the door was opened the dog charted at the stranger again. They could be heard fighting. The dog was roaring occasionally and appeared to have got the worse of the fight, as he had to be carried in to an out-house and left there until the next day. They all blessed themselves and went
