    Mr Tom Green; Parkhill, Ballylinan Laoghis. He could mow an acre of corn or an acre of meadow n a day.
    John Ryan, Boley, Luggacurren could cut an acre of corn or meadow in a day.
    Tom Kirwan, Milltown Ballylinan could cut an acre and a half of corn in one day. He was hired by people specially for cutting corn.
    Louis Ryan; Loughglass; Ballylinan could cut about 3/4 of an acre of meadow or corn in a day.
    Weight-Throwers.
    Mr Thomas Mc Hugh, Parkhill, Ballylinan could throw a 1/2 cwt weight over the pier of his own gate about 8' high.
    Thomas Mc Hugh Corbally was a noted weight thrower
