- There are the ruins of a castle in a field owned by Mr John Buttler Ballyadams; parish of Ballyadams; Laoighis. It was built by one of the OMores in the reign of King John. It has been direlict now for about two hundred years.
It was besieged during the insurrection of 1641 by lord Castle haven; King James's General Sir John Bowen was then in possession of the Castle.
